What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are single strands of synthetic (or mink) eyelashes that are made to replicate a natural eyelash.  They are placed one by one on top of each one of your natural eyelashes to create a beautiful, natural look.

Will My Eyelashes Extensions Damage My Natural Lashes?

As long as the lash extensions are applied correctly as well as the correct weight and size there should not be any damage.  Make sure not to rub, tug or pull out lash extensions.  Doing so can cause natural lashes to fall out prematurely.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Make sure your eyes and lashes are free of any makeup (mascara, eyeliner, etc.) The cleaner the better, that means more lash time!  Try not to have any caffeine, I've found that caffeine causes your eyelids to flutter sometimes making it difficult to apply the extensions which only lengthens your appointment .

How often should I get touch ups?

I recommend getting a touch up every 2-3 weeks 3 weeks being the longest period to wait.  Due to their natural growth cycle, your natural eyelashes fall off every 4-6 weeks, and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Everyone's experience will differ based off their day to day activities. Other factors such as exposure to steam or rubbing and touching your eyes often may cause the extensions to fall off quicker.  Touch ups are needed to replace any lashes that have fallen off or grown out.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, wearing eyelash extensions?

You can totally do all of the above! The adhesive we use is waterproof and allows you to do all of the above.  Overall maintenance is low, but special care is required.  The first 24 hours I don't recommend heavy water usage.  Eyelash extensions are wonderful for ALL OCCASIONS!

Can I apply mascara to eyelash extensions?

Yes you certainly can however I never reccomend it because the extensions give the illusion that you're already wearing it.  However, if you do decide to wear it, make sure it's a water based mascara.  The oil-based and waterproof mascara can break down the adhesive and shorten the life of your extensions, causing them to fall sooner.

How  do  I get my lash  extensions to last ?

The biggest misconception out there is lash la la land is that you must refrain from wetting or washing your lashes.  However it has been proven that lash extensions will last longer when you keep them cleaner.  I reccomend washing them every night with baby soap/ tear free/ oil free face wash and water. Start by wetting your lashes, then add two pea size drops of wash to your fingertips and massage your eyelids (NOT LASHES) in a circular motion for about 30 seconds on each eye before rinsing.  Let air dry or blow dry on cool, low before brushing out lashes. Ta Da!
